I have been sewing all my life and now create art quilts and embroideries. Working solely by machine I stitch, quilt, manipulate, texture and embellish plain fabrics and the thread is a major element in my work. I also love exploring the “new” mixed media which arrive on the textile scene.
The architecture and cultures of places I have visited around the world are major sources of inspiration – and more recently abstract themes such as secrecy and concealment – and rain.
I am a Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, and the Quilters' Guild of the British Isles. I have won many awards for my work which is exhibited in the UK, Europe, USA and Canada. I teach quilting, machine embroidery and other textile related subjects.
