I specialise in machine embroidery, producing both framed and wall hung pieces. The development of textural effects using a variety of threads on the machine has been a particular inspiration.
Design sources have included geometric patterns, medieval tiles, patterns on the body of the tiger, water reflections, colour in the skies, fruits and more recently a study of canals. Current work relates to views from the train window on my journey from Birmingham to mid-Wales.
In addition to Tangent Textiles, I am a member the Royal Birmingham and other Artists’ Societies and Birmingham Arts Circle.
Work has been exhibited nationally. I write articles for magazines and give talks for the Guild and other organisations
